Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning // Level 3

This qualification provides learners with an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school and college environments. 

It covers all aspects of specialist support, including: planning, delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher; bilingual support; special needs support and personal development and reflective practice. It is aimed at learners working or volunteering in roles that offer specialist support for pupil’s learning in 
primary, secondary or special schools, as well as colleges. 

Entry Requirements
You should be at least 16 years old, with a minimum of two GCSEs at grade C or above, including English. Learners undertaking the Certificate will need to be working or volunteering in a school or college environment as they will need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

You will need to attend an interview with a course tutor and demonstrate an interest in working with children and young people. Prior experience is desirable. You will also need a DBS check and two confidential references. 

All units will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.

Progression & Careers
You could progress intoother Level 3 qualifications in childcare or to a Foundation Degree.
