Course overview

This course is designed for those who would like to gain relevant technical knowledge and practical skills needed to work toward a successful career in maintenance engineering/manufacturing.

You will be working in excellent facilities, using industry-standard equipment safely and you’ll be taught by engineers with vast industry experience and close relationships with some of the region’s largest employers.

  • Unit 201 – Working in Engineering.
  • Unit 202 – Principles of Engineering Technology.
  • Unit 206 – Using Bench Fitting Techniques.
  • Unit 208 – Principles of Maintenance Technology.
  • Unit 210 – Maintenance of Mechanical Devices & Equipment.

Assessment

You will be required to complete practical assessments, short answer question papers and online multiple-choice assessments.

Entry Requirements

Two GCSEs at Grade D, including maths and English, or a relevant Level 1 Engineering qualification. An interview with a course tutor is also required.

Progression and careers

C&G 2850-33 L3 Diploma in Engineering Maintenance, Installation and Commissioning or the option to seek an engineering apprenticeship or employment.
