City & Guilds (2850-26) Diploma in Fabrication & Welding Technology // Level 1
This course is designed for those who would like to gain relevant knowledge and hand skills needed to develop or build on a successful career in fabrication and welding.
Areas of study include:
- Working in engineering
- Hand fitting
- Principles of engineering technologies
- MIG welding
- Fabricating of thick plate
- Principles of fabrication and welding
You will be working in excellent facilities, using industry-standard equipment safely and you’ll be taught by engineers with vast industry experience and close relationships with some of the region’s largest employers.
Two GCSEs at Grade D/Grade 3 including maths and English or a relevant Level 1 Engineering qualification. Interview with course tutor is also required.
You will be required to complete the following: practical assessments, multiple-choice assessments and short answer question papers.
Progression & Careers
The Level 2 Diploma in Fabrication & Welding Technology (2850-26) allows you to gain the skills you need to progress to a higher-level engineering course, seek an apprenticeship or simply enjoy working within an engineering environment.
You may be able to progress onto a Level 3 engineering qualification. You will gain expertise on this course that will provide you with the essential components of an engineering career, especially within fabrication and welding.
