City & Guilds (2850-26) Diploma in Engineering - Fabrication & Welding Technology // Level 2
Overview
This course is designed for those who plan to increase their practical and theory knowledge of a range of welding processes, thermal cutting and fabrication within our industry leading practical training facilities whilst preparing themselves for entry into the welding & fabrication industry or a related apprenticeship.

Unit 214 Welding by MIG Process
Unit 218 Fabricating Thick Plate,
Bar & Sections
Unit 215 Welding by TIG process
Unit 212 Principles of Fabrication
& Welding Technology
Unit 202 Principles of Engineering
Technology
Unit 201 Working in Engineering
Entry Requirements
Two GCSEs at Grade D (3) including maths and English or a relevant Level 1 Engineering qualification.
You will also need to attend an informal interview with the course tutor.
Assessment
Assessment will be via the City & Guilds online multiple-choice exam, short answer question papers and college based assignments which contain practical and knowledge tasks.
Progression Routes
The Level 2 Diploma in Fabrication & Welding Technology (2850-26) allows you to gain the skills you need to progress onto the Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence), Level 3 Diploma in Engineering - Maintenance, Installation and Commissioning, or an Apprenticeship with Tyne North Training.
You will gain expertise on this course that will provide you with the essential components of an engineering career, especially within fabrication and welding
