City & Guilds (3268-18) Certificate in Introductory Welding, Fabrication and Cutting Skills // Level 1

Overview

This course is designed for those who are new to welding and fabrication and want to gain knowledge and practical skills in a range of welding processes, thermal cutting and fabrication within our industry leading practical training facilities

Units covered will include:

  • Unit 103 Tungsten Inert Gas Welding
  • Unit 107 Thermal Cutting Techniques
  • Unit 104 Metal Inert Gas Welding
  • Unit 106 Metal Fabrication
  • Unit 101 Manual Metal Arc Welding

 You will be working in excellent facilities, using industry-standard equipment safely and you’ll be taught by engineers with vast industry experience and close relationships with some of the region’s largest employers.


Entry Requirements

Two GCSEs at Grade E-F/Grade 2 including English and maths. Interview with course tutor is also required.


Assessment

Assessment is by coursework, practical assignments throughout the course.


Progression Routes

The Level 1 Certificate in Introductory Welding, Fabrication and Cutting Skills (3268-18) allows you to gain the skills you need to progress onto the Level 2 Diploma in Engineering - Fabrication and Welding Technology. , seek an apprenticeship or simply enjoy working within an engineering environment.
