Introduction to AutoCAD Electrical

Develop your skills in electrical design/draughting

Learners will develop the basic skills required to be able to lay out wiring schematics to current standards, produce wiring schedules and bill of materials using the common features of AutoCAD electrical 2015 including the use of libraries of electrical symbols and common supplier’s standard parts and components.

What's involved?

The Introduction to AutoCAD Electrical course will allow learners to become familiar with the user interface and functionality of the current version AutoCAD Electrical 2015 software. Learners will use a range of electrical draughting tools to create and present electrical schematic drawings and panel layouts to current British and IEC60617 standards. The draughting tools employed will include wire drawing and terminal functions; standard libraries for electrical symbol insertion; standard libraries for common supplier component insertion; production of wiring schedules from schematics; production of bill of materials from schematics; working with sheets and projects and the automated referencing tools which are necessary when doing so. Learners will engage in a range of practical exercises allowing skills and confidence to develop in the use of AutoCAD Electrical and its range of draughting functions.
