Designed to meet the needs of young people on the autism spectrum, individuals with Asperger's Syndrome or those with difficulties with social communication and interaction.

What will I study?

This course is a vocational option promoting teamwork, using innovative methods to encourage improved use of body language, vocal tone and facial expression. These activities, including performing arts modules, stimulate creativity, flexibility of thought and self-expression; therefore developing higher self-esteem and confidence in participants.

Using drama to facilitate these learning activities is a fun and safe way to interact and co-operate with others as well as assisting the understanding of emotions and how to express them.

The combination of personal, social and employability skills gained from this course will contribute to increased independence and self-determination, enhancing each student’s life experience and employment opportunities.

Entry requirements

No formal education requirements are needed. Places are offered following a successful link and assessment visit to your school or current provider.


Your progress is assessed during classroom activities throughout the programme.


On completion you may be able to progress to other courses within the department or to other adult services.
