You have a passion for caring and want to develop your skills to equip you for a career in Health & Social Care.
What will I study?
This Level 2 qualification is mapped against National Occupational Standards for Health and Social Care and acts as a robust and thorough grounding to the industry.
You will develop knowledge and understanding across a variety of topics, including: Health and safety; Communication skills; and Equality & Diversity.
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (including English Language and Maths at grade 3); or pass at BTEC Level 1 Certificate or equivalent; or progression from a relevant Level 1 qualification along with 3s or above in English language and Maths. You will need to attend an interview with a course tutor and demonstrate an interest in working in the Health and Social Care sector. Two confidential references are needed along with the ability to work in demanding voluntary settings.
Assessment is carried out using a range of methods, which could include: direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or an optional assessment task set by CACHE.
Progression & Careers
You may be able to progress onto the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma or Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care. Careers include: employment in the Health & Social Care industry working with children, the elderly or in a mental health setting.
