Prince's Trust Team Programme // Pre-entry level
The Prince’s Trust Team Programme is a 12 week development programme with a variety of different activities designed to prepare you for your chosen career path or college course. The programme offers a wide range of personal development activities to get involved in!

There are loads of opportunities to widen your skills and potential, including: confidence and communication, working with others, setting and achieving goals, managing feelings, reliability (time-keeping and taking responsibility), job search skills, money management and leadership skills.
By completing the course you will gain a recognised qualification in The Prince’s Trust Certificate in Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills.
The first two weeks will be focused on team building skills and getting to know other students on the course by taking part in icebreakers and team challenges. You will also begin planning for the rest of the programme and set out what you aim to achieve over the 12 week programme.
You will take part in a one week residential in Northumberland. You will experience new and challenging team building activities including canoeing, rock climbing and hill walking.
In week four you will begin to plan for the rest of the programme including your work placement. As a team you will discuss and choose a project that will benefit the local community that will be carried out in weeks five and six.
During these weeks you will carry out your chosen community project.
This is a great opportunity to develop your skills as an individual and in a team.
Within weeks seven and eight you will be on a work placement.
Gain experience and transferrable skills within the workplace of your choice.
The main focus of week nine is to develop your employability skills. During the week you will complete a CV, take part in job searches, letter writing and learn about interview techniques.
During weeks ten and eleven you will be responsible for organising and running events. You will test all the skills you have learnt throughout the programme. You will also work as a team on a challenging activity to help another group in your community.
During your final week, you will deliver a presentation to your friends and family as well as potential employers. It will be extremely rewarding to show the skills you have gained through the Prince’s Trust Team Programme at TyneMet.
You must be aged between 16-25 years and unemployed.
Progression & Careers
Students may be able to move onto other courses at TyneMet College or directly into employment.
