Diploma in PE and Coaching // Level 3

This course is for you if ...

You have passion and drive to have a successful career within the sports coaching industry.

The Diploma is specifically aimed at students who already have some experience of sports coaching whether that be with sports clubs, in primary schools or volunteering at a range of different events.  

This course will further develop your confidence and ability to deliver sports coaching sessions and the course will provide you with opportunities and experiences to boost your abilities as a coach.

You will also complete some NGB accredited coaching awards across a range of sports. There will be a range of guest speakers from the sports coaching industry sharing key information and the opportunity to gain valuable work experience across the sports industry. 

Entry Requirements

You must be at least 17 years old with GCSE Grade C (4) or above in English and maths as well as experience of coaching/volunteering within sport. You will also need to attend an interview with the course tutor. 

Assessment

You will be assessed through you coursework, which will include practical workbooks, discussions with your tutor as well as observation of practical coaching sessions.

Progression & Careers

Depending on other qualifications studied, you could progress onto a university degree such as Sports Coaching or Sports Development.

Careers include: Sports coach, Sports Coaching Apprentice, PE Specialist Primary Teacher, Sports Development Officer

Placements may include: primary schools, secondary schools, Newcastle Eagles Foundation, Newcastle Falcons Foundation, Active Northumberland, NUFC Foundation, Tynemet NESA as well as many more.
