You are considering a career in the Uniformed or Public Services, including Army, Navy, Air Force, Police Force, Fire Service, Paramedics or other Uniformed Services sector jobs.

What will I study?

This course will prepare you and develop your skills for a career in the Uniformed Services.

You will develop key skills, including: researching career opportunities, health and fitness related to the Uniformed Services, communication skills, map reading and navigation and discipline for the Uniformed Services.

Entry Requirements

Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade D-F or above; or equivalent; or suitable Foundation Level qualification.

An interview with a course tutor and reference from previous school or college are also required.


Assessment is coursework based using a variety of methods, including: practical participation in a variety of fitness and skillrelated activities, presentations, reports and observations.

Progression & Careers

You could progress onto a Level 2 Uniformed/Public Services course at TyneMet College to further your skills, or into employment.
