Creating a world-class combined education and training facility, with strength in professional skills and finance and the capability of supporting the learning demands of thousands of individuals and businesses in the years ahead, is a realistic ambition of the proposed new Tyne Coast College, which merges South Tyneside College, Tyne Metropolitan College, South Shields Marine School and the Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College.
All share a culture of success and attainment and are highly progressive and innovative leaders in education, with South Tyneside College having been named 'FE College of the Year' and ‘Overall FE provider of the Year’ at the prestigious TES FE Awards 2017.
Our curriculum is dynamic and diverse, and brims with the essential academic and vocational skills training that enables students to progress into their chosen careers.
We work with employers to deliver apprenticeships, and a wide range of vocational qualifications – including Career College North East which recruits students from age 14 – as well as world-class maritime training. Both Colleges have been recognised by OFSTED with an overall rating of 'Good' in 2015.
Recruiting high-calibre, professional staff with vocational credibility is at the core of our success. We are looking for dynamic and innovative individuals with a passion for achieving excellence through delivering a first class quality service at all times.
