Tyne Metropolitan College is pleased to announce that it has secured a preferred training supplier contract with the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC); the contract was secured through a tough and highly competitive selection process in which the college excelled. The contract is for the delivery of a range of business support programmes, including Train the Trainer, HR, Business and Finance, Emotional Intelligence, Marketing and PR.
John Millichap Head of Skills Development (NECC) commented that "As a Chamber of Commerce our number one priority is helping business thrive and proposer. Part of this support involves ensuring that they have access to high quality training in key business critical areas. TyneMet College clearly demonstrated their capability to deliver to our exacting standards and we are looking forward to a successful and productive partnership".
Director of Business Development Vic Reid who led on the colleges successful bid commented: "We are absolutely delighted to have secured this contact with NECC and look forward to working in partnership with them delivering high quality training courses to support their members".
NECC is the voice of industry across the region providing a wide range of professional and membership services and is one of the largest Chambers in the country. It champions the needs of industry and commerce though membership representation, policy briefings, campaigns and training services on behalf of the regions business community.
The College was selected because of its reputation for high quality training, growing reputation within the business community for delivering training solutions that have a bottom line impact. This strong reputation was backed by Ofsted who reported in an official inspection report in March 2011 that: "Employers are very positive about the standard of work achieved by trainees. Success rates on 'Train to Gain' courses and apprenticeships are above the national average…"
It goes on to add: "The College's response to employers is good. Both trainees and employers report that TyneMet demonstrates a good flexibility to meet their needs in the timing and location of provision. The college has developed innovative approaches to curriculum delivery to meet employer needs…"
