They got cold and soaking wet, but they battled hard. And that determination paid off for a team of TyneMet Uniformed Services students as they came a very close second in an Inter-College Team Building Challenge. Fourteen teams took part in tasks at Kirkley Hall in Northumberland such as high ropes, ditch cross and holey pipe. Sadly, the TyneMet team were beaten into second place by Bishop Auckland College by the result of the final event - egg tossing!

Their lecturer, Carl Penaluna says it was a bit of a disappointment but the team did really well. He says:\This is the sort of activity that prepares them for entry into the uniformed services so teamwork is vital and this shows what they can achieve when they work together.\
