Certificate in Barbering – Level 1 (January)

Course Overview

Our Level 1 Barbering Course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the art of barbering. This programme covers fundamental skills, techniques, and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the barbering industry. Students will receive hands-on training and practical experience to develop the expertise required for entry-level barbering positions.

  • Introduction to the hairdressing sector
  • Presenting a professional image in a barber salon
  • Shampoo & condition hair
  • Styling men’s hair
  • Follow Health and Safety in a Salon

The course will start in January and finish in June.

The course will be studied on a Tuesday from 9am-4pm.

On completion of the course, students may have the option to progress on to our Level 2 barbering course in September.

For students aged 16-18 who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in Maths or English, these subjects will be included in your timetable along with your main course. Improving your skills in Maths and English is essential, as these qualifications open doors to further study and career opportunities.

Our teaching team will work with you to help you achieve the grades you need, building confidence in these key areas to support your future success.

All 16-18 students must study maths and/or English as part of their main study programme, there is no option to study maths and/or English on its own.
