Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, Level 2 (January)
This course is suitable for anyone wanting to work in adult health and social care.
This course will help you to understand more about working in health and social care. It aims to introduce you to basic concepts of caring and prepare you for employment within the sector.
You will cover areas such as communication, equality and diversity, personal development, the role of the social care worker, handling information, health and safety and person-centred approaches.
To study the course, you will need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above.
This course is studied over 6 months.
You will build a portfolio of evidence by completing a series of assignments in each unit. Your work will be assessed by your tutor.
Once you have completed this course, there will be further progression opportunities available to you.
You may decide to complete a level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care to develop your knowledge and experience further or you could progress to the level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care.
For students aged 16-18 who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in Maths or English, these subjects will be included in your timetable along with your main course. Improving your skills in Maths and English is essential, as these qualifications open doors to further study and career opportunities.
Our teaching team will work with you to help you achieve the grades you need, building confidence in these key areas to support your future success.
All 16-18 students must study maths and/or English as part of their main study programme, there is no option to study maths and/or English on its own.
