Gateway Qualification: Level 2 Award in Website Design and Development
Course Overview
Take your web design skills to the next level in this exciting course, perfect for those with a basic understanding of creating simple websites. You’ll plan, design, and develop a fully functional website for a client brief, mastering the tools and techniques needed to create polished, professional results.
The course will begin by exploring the fundamentals of web design, including the types, features, principles, and technologies available to today’s designers. Dive into industry-standard tools like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web 2.0, Google Analytics, and SEO to build engaging, high-performing websites.
Working from a real client brief, you’ll craft a proposal that fits within a budget and deadline, with a clear focus on the target audience, content, and functionality. You’ll also produce comprehensive planning documentation, including storyboards, sitemaps, file structures, and a GANTT chart to map out milestones and technical requirements.
Bring your ideas to life using Dreamweaver, incorporating rich assets like images, animations, video, and audio while adhering to copyright regulations. Learn how to design responsive, user-friendly websites that meet W3C standards and are compatible across all major browsers.
To complete the course, you’ll publish your website to a live server, test its functionality and performance, and gather feedback to refine its usability and features.
