Performing Engineering Operations Level 2
This course is designed to introduce you to engineering at a practical level to develop your skills and knowledge. It is a great starting point for anyone who still isn’t quite sure on their future career path.
During the Level 2 course, will have the option to experience other industrial areas such as wiring and testing electrical equipment and circuits, gas welding and mechanical assembly.
MANDATORY
- Unit 201b Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
- Unit 202 Carrying out engineering activities efficiently and effectively
- Unit 203 Using and communication technical information
OPTIONAL
- Unit 219 Maintaining mechanical systems
- Unit 230 Preparing and Using Manual Oxy/fuel Gas Welding Equipment
- Unit 233 Wiring and Testing Electrical Equipment and Circuits
Depending on GCSE re-sit results, students will then have the possibility of progressing onto Level 2 Foundation Competency qualification, or onto the Level 3 BTEC Award, possibly Apprenticeship.
For students aged 16-18 who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in Maths or English, these subjects will be included in your timetable along with your main course. Improving your skills in Maths and English is essential, as these qualifications open doors to further study and career opportunities.
Our teaching team will work with you to help you achieve the grades you need, building confidence in these key areas to support your future success.
All 16-18 students must study maths and/or English as part of their main study programme, there is no option to study maths and/or English on its own.
