What an incredible season for our football excellence students have had as part of the Blyth Spartans Academy!
As the season draws to a close, let’s take a look at the achievements of the 23/24 season…
The under 18s clinched the league title in a thrilling finale, overcoming Gateshead FC 9-0 in the last game of the season.
With predominantly first-year students in the squad, this victory speaks volumes about their quality and attitude the team possess.
Special shoutout to Bobby Small, the only second-year student, who topped the scoring charts again! Last season he notched 28 goals with 21 this time around, he’s now the highest scorer in academy history.
The Under 19s also had an incredible season, finishing third in their league after winning it last year and reaching the national cup semi-finals.
First-year students Jack Daley, Leon Burke, and Zach Simpson made impressive first team debuts in the NFA Senior Cup quarter-final, with Zach becoming the youngest ever goal scorer for the 1st team!
Michael Hogan, Rio Joisce, and Billy Gordon from our U19s also shone in the National League North, representing the academy with pride.
As some of the players move on, we wish them all the best.
Here’s to another fantastic year of achievement!
